One of our favorite parts of the week was riding bikes around the island. In addition to being very family friendly, it is also very bike friendly. It was really affordable to rent bikes for the week. Michael pulled Simon and Levi in a trailer. Vanessa rode a bike with a tag-a-long for Miriam. It was pretty tricky to get the hang of at first, but we were so proud of how well she did. The first bike trip was a ride to dinner. Apparently Simon and Levi were comfortable because they promptly fell asleep.
Our next trip was a 3 mile ride to a general store. Michael's parents, Rachel, Shaun, Connor, and Rebecca all joined us this time. It was hot and humid that morning, but we all made it. We picked up some fun souvenirs to remember our trip. Miriam did amazing on the 6 mile round-trip ride. We wanted to take one last ride before the week was over, but the rain kept us from biking anymore. (
I am secretly glad there isn't a video to go with this post... It wouldn't have been pretty!)
