June Extras

In June:

* We were counting down the days until Miriam got out of school
* We enjoyed as much time as we could outside before the weather got too hot
* We celebrated Father's Day
* Miriam and Simon started swim lessons
* Miriam got a haircut

s'mores

We decided to take advantage of the nice weather we are having by making s'mores with Grandma and Grandpa Bishop. Roasting marshmallows is always a good idea in my book. It was Levi's first time partaking of the goodness. Miriam and Simon love making s'mores and have started to want to do their own roasting. We are sure glad we live close to such fun grandparents.

Father's Day

We loved celebrating Michael on Father's Day. He is a really great dad. The kids love him. They are always so excited when he comes home. I couldn't ask for a better partner to raise these crazy kids with. I am glad we get to mess them up together.

One lovely Saturday morning we walked to the park. The kids wanted to swing before it got too hot and humid. Miriam, Simon, and Levi all love to swing. Even though Miriam can pump her legs and swing by herself, she still wants to be pushed sometimes. It can be tiring pushing them all over and over again...

...it's a good thing their Dad was there to push them while I enjoyed a mommy break on the see-saw!

Last Day of Kindergarten

It is hard to believe that Miriam is all done with Kindergarten. She loved school this year. It was so good for her to get out of her comfort zone and make new friends. She learned a lot and is already reading on a first grade level. We are proud of Miriam and all her progress at school this year. She is already looking forward to first grade in only 10 short weeks.

Dance Recital

Miriam really enjoyed dance this year. She did a full school year of ballet and tap.

At the end of the year she had a recital where her class performed a tap routine. Miriam was excited to dress up in her costume and perform on stage. She did an amazing job. She remembered all the steps. I was a little nervous for her, but she did great. Miriam was so lucky to have so many people come and support her at her first big dance recital.

*video disclaimer:  No video taping was allowed at the recital, so I recorded her routine on one of her last days of class. We were also allowed to record the dress rehearsal. What I didn't know is that they would run through it one time and that was it. Miriam's class was very first and I didn't have time to get the camera ready. All I got was a blurry video of her performance. I was so bummed. In the end I should have just used my phone to take a video. (She is in the back on the left end to start - then moves to the front.)*

Matchy, Matchy Sunday

One Sunday we got to church and realized we all wore pink, black, and white. We had a few extra minutes so we just had to go outside and take some pictures. I love this family of mine.

On our morning walk one day Simon talked me into stopping at the park to swing. I am happy I obliged because seeing Levi and Simon having so much fun makes my heart happy. It is always a good reminder that simple acts can make my kids so happy. We can always use more fun in our lives.
