Charleston South Carolina

After our long drive down to Charleston the kids were ready to get out and stretch their legs. We checked into our hotel then walked to dinner. We had to stop at the first palm tree we saw to take a picture. We loved seeing all the old houses and cobblestone streets in Charleston. We walked through the city market, had dinner, then finished our night with some ice cream.

On Saturday we wanted to see one of the many southern plantations, but we will save that for another post. We decided to let the kids swim before heading out for an early dinner. We had some yummy tacos for dinner before walking some more around Charleston. We stopped at Rainbow Row on the way to Waterfront Park where we sat and watched the water. On our way back to the hotel we stopped and got ice cream again! (we were on vacation after all)

(Since one child isn't looking in each picture,
I posted all three so you could get the idea of what a good picture would have looked like.
I need some Photoshop skills to be able to replace heads and such)

Sunday morning before heading down to Hilton Head to meet Michael's family, we wanted to stop and walk across the Cooper River Bridge (Arthur Ravenel Jr Bridge). While we were looking for a place to park the kids saw a park. So, we decided to play at the park (under the bridge) and make the kids happy instead. We let them play for a while before walking out on the Mount Pleasant Pier, where we pulled out the selfie stick and snapped away. Since we opted not to bring our stroller this trip, I think the kids were tired of walking. We ended up carrying them a lot. After we had our fill of water views we headed to a yummy brunch and drove down to HHI.

Here are some videos of our time in Charleston (complete with a video taken by Miriam):
