a story of our daily life; sometimes exciting, sometimes mundane, but ours just the same

National Harbor
On Saturday we went down to the National Harbor with Michael's parents to meet some of his aunts, uncles, and cousins that were in town. After we had lunch Miriam and Simon played hide-and-seek and ring-around-the-rosie. They were great to entertain themselves while the adults chatted. After everyone said goodbye we decided to walk around a bit to enjoy the beautiful weather. Although it was the first day of spring, Miriam had a snow day the day before. It was hard to believe since the weather was so nice. It was great to get out and enjoy some sunshine. Hopefully the spring weather is here to stay.
On the way home we tried to stop and get ice cream, but kept striking out with places being closed. Finally we just decided to drive home and get ice cream close by our house. It ended up being dinner time, so ice cream for dinner it was!

eleven months
As usual, time is passing by so quickly. In one month my little boy will be one. Levi is such a sweet boy. He loves to cuddle and give hugs and kisses. He grew 5 teeth this month, and I am sure the 6th isn't far behind. Levi isn't crawling, but he has learned to scoot around on his bum a bit. If he is on his tummy he scoots backward. Levi has finally taken to solid foods this month. He has started eating baby food and a few finger foods. He likes cheese sticks, strawberries, bananas, yogurt, and cereal. Levi is wearing 18 months clothes. I finally gave up squeezing him into 12 month clothes. Levi is trying to figure out communicating. I am not sure he has really said his first word, but he is definitely understanding more. He makes a lot of cute noises and copies what you do. Levi is really a great baby. We love him to the moon and back.

Dance Update
Miriam is still enjoying her dance class. They have started learning the recital piece. They will be performing one tap number. At first I think she was frustrated that she wasn't getting it, but once I reminded her that she has lots of time to practice she felt better. It is wonderful watching her learn new skills and gain confidence.

Attempted
We were ready early for church so I thought I would try to get a picture of all of us...
....good attempt. Some days it just isn't happening.

February Extras
In February:
*Levi was teething (6 teeth) which meant a lot of extra snuggles
*We battled the cold weather with trips to the mall and library
*Michael was in full-swing busy season (beard and all) which means we didn't see him much
*Miriam, Simon, and Levi enjoyed every minute they got to spend with Dad
*We spent too much time eating out because it is hard to be motivated to cook when Michael never came home for dinner
*Levi enjoyed his first french fries
*Miriam celebrated 100 days of school with Dr. Seuss
*Added four more snow days
