Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Every year Michael's mom heads up to Pennsylvania to buy peaches to can. They are a great price and you can't beat farm fresh. Last year I took the kids up for the first time. This year we were not able to go the day the peaches were ready. Michael's mom graciously drove up and picked up peaches alone, then two days later drove up with us so we could visit Amish country.

The kids did really well on the drive up. We stopped at the same place as last year for a donut and let the kids run around while I fed Levi. Miriam and Simon had fun playing statue and climbing trees. When we got to Lancaster we made a necessary stop at Sonic (why doesn't Loudoun County have a Sonic?).

We took the kids on a buggy ride around the countryside. Miriam sat up front with the driver where she got to hold the reins and lead the horses. Unfortunately I forgot my camera that day so all I have is iPhone pictures. Amish country is beautiful.

Two years ago when we traveled to Utah to see my family we met Tara at Winsor Photography. We loved the pictures she took for us, so naturally when we planned our trip to Utah this year we knew we had to have her take our family pictures again. Once again she did not disappoint. I am going to try to share just a few (it is so hard to choose).

Post Vacation Recovery

After three weeks of vacation we headed home to find out our AC was out. It was a long, hot week before it was finally fixed. We spent the month of July recovering from vacation. We had some really nice weather at the end of the month. The kids have been spending a lot of time outside. Here are some pictures from the rest of July.
