I took the kids bowling

Since we signed up for the free summer bowling I figured I better take the kids even if Michael couldn't come. They always have so much fun while bowling. They are all getting really good. Miriam even scored over 100! I love these three and making them happy is the best.

Bowling with Cousins

Simon was excited to go bowling with his cousins for his birthday (well, the day after his birthday). It was kind of crazy bowling with so many kids, but they all had so much fun together.

A Day Off of School

Yesterday the county decided to give the kids the day off of school for the primary elections. I guess they figured the schools would be really full of voters. Instead of sitting around all day, I promised the kids I would take them bowling. It isn't an easy feat with three young kids, but we survived and even had fun.

Miriam's Birthday

We celebrated Miriam's birthday on a couple of different days. On the 21st we had dinner and cupcakes with Trevor and Robyn's family. (We only got a video that day. I really need to do better.) On the 23rd we celebrated her actual birthday the only way our kids know how, bowling and lunch at Chick-fil-A. This was the first time Levi showed interest in bowling, so we let him push the ball down the lane. It was a pretty busy day at the bowling alley and there were not any ramps left for the kids. Miriam and Simon actually did really well without it. Levi only bowled one game while Miriam and Simon bowled 2 games. First game scores: Miriam 73, Simon 62, Levi 85. Second game scores: Miriam 82 and Simon 52.

This year Miriam requested spaghetti carbonara for dinner. After dinner Michael's parents came over with Elizabeth and Rebecca for presents and dessert. Miriam got a lot of fun things for her birthday including a new haircut (and looking back at these pictures I realized she had three different hairstyles in one day)!

Miriam wanted crème brûlée for dessert, a girl after my own heart.

I had a couple of videos to share, but our computer is wacko. I can only get this one to work, so pretend there is a cute video of the kids bowling and of Miriam opening gifts also.

Simon's Birthday

Simon wanted to go bowling for his birthday again this year. We picked up Miriam from the bus stop after school and met Michael over at the bowling alley. Simon and Miriam had a fun time bowling. Levi mostly watched, but pushed a couple of balls down the ramp. Simon even got his first strike. After bowling we went to Chick-fil-a for lunch.

Simon wanted hamburgers for dinner. After we ate Michael's parents came over for presents and cake. He had chocolate cake with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures. If you can't tell from the pictures there was quite the ninja turtle theme.
