An Afternoon at the Farm

We took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday and made our first trip of the season to the farm. We packed up a picnic lunch and headed to Kidwell Farm. The kids were beyond excited to get out and run around. What made it even better was that Dad was there with them. There were six newborn lambs and plenty of other animals to see. I was pretty slow walking around at 37 weeks pregnant so I was really glad Michael was there. We sure can't wait for more warm weather to come AND STAY (snow this week is so dumb).

hope for spring

Friday it was a semi-nice day so I ventured out and took the kids to the park. It was the first day of spring so I thought it only fitting we should get out of the house. I knew it was only going to be nice for two days. My hope for spring to actually come was a little bit renewed as we enjoyed the fresh air. Miriam and Simon had fun running around, sliding, and swinging.

^^I even saw some buds on a tree... Spring might come after all.^^

Baltimore National Aquarium

Our year membership pass to the aquarium expires at the end of March. We decided to take the kids one last time while we had the chance. Even though it was a Saturday (and the aquarium was really packed) we had a great time this last time around. We even saw a couple of things we had passed or not seen before. The octopus is usually hiding in a comer where you can't even see it. This time around he was right out in the middle moving around. We also decided to go in the rainforest section, which we usually skip, and saw some pretty tropical birds. One of the last things we did is stop to see the dolphins. It seems like the past few times we have seem them they didn't feel like performing. However, this time they were playful which meant we got to see a lot more splashing, jumping and diving from the dolphins.

We decided to pack a lunch this time (after discovering a place you can eat inside the aquarium last time we went). It gave the kids a nice break in the middle of it all to eat and look out at the harbor. It was nice to not have to leave the aquarium and come back in, which makes the kids more tired. We had some nice weather and even though it was windy when we were leaving the aquarium it was nice to come out and walk around in the sunshine. It was a great year seeing the aquarium with the kids. We look forward to buying year membership again in a couple of years.

^^every time we walk by this statue Miriam comments about the "funny guy"^^
this time she really wanted a picture - and I kindly obliged

Best Buds

Miriam and Simon are really (90% of the time) great friends. They play well together. Miriam always misses Simon when he is napping and asks constantly when it is time to wake him up. Simon wants to do whatever Miriam is doing, sometimes that frustrates Miriam but she is usually really patient to involve him. They really love playing together right before bedtime. They climb up into Miriam's bed to play and laugh. It makes this momma happy when I hear them having fun together. I hope they continue to enjoy playing together for a long time... and I hope they can include their baby brother.

^^trying to wink^^

^^after playing in the snow Simon wanted to put on leggings like Miriam^^
