Egg Hunt and Driving
The Tagg family kindly invited us to their annual egg hunt. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was a beautiful day to be outside. Miriam was excited to see her friends and find candy. Simon kept saying candy all morning, but when it came down to finding the candy he was slow to pick it up. Both Miriam and Simon walked past a lot of candy before realizing they needed to pick it up and put it in their buckets. They were happy with what they had at the end and so were we.
However, it seems like even more exciting than hunting eggs was Miriam's first driving lesson. We arrived really early to the egg hunt, so we drove around the neighborhood... Miriam at the wheel and Simon on my lap. At first she was really excited but as it went on she kept saying, "I am done Dad". Michael had to remind her many times to pay attention. I hope this isn't a future indication of what teaching her to drive will really be like.

Coloring Easter Eggs
Since Michael took the day off today we decided it would be a good day to color Easter eggs. We headed to Grandma and Grandpa's house to make it just that much more fun (or because they had already invited us over so why not make the mess there :) Miriam and Simon we both really excited to color eggs this year. I saw a bunch of cute ideas for coloring eggs on Pinterest but I figured they are too young to care too much, so we went with the 25 cent coloring kit I got after Easter last year. Miriam was in heaven concentrating on each egg. Simon loved dropping the eggs in to the cups and seeing what happened when he pulled them out.

The Beard
Over busy season Michael had a beard growing contest with a fellow employee. I have to be honest, I am not a fan. I don't like kissing a hairy face, which is probably mostly selfish. Contrary to what he made others believe, he shaved it on his own accord. I walked into the bathroom and told him he should have taken a picture before he started shaving. Ends up he took one on his phone so now I get to document the before and after.

Egg Hunt at the Park
Saturday morning we met some friends at a nearby park for an Easter egg hunt. We decided to brave the cold and let the kids hunt for eggs. Although it was cold, they were very patient waiting for the hunt to begin. Simon had to shake every egg to see if it had something in it. It took him so long that he only ended up with a few eggs in the end (fine by me though). I recorded a little video of him shaking eggs saying, "empty". Miriam didn't quite get the concept of go-fast-or-the-eggs-will-be-gone. She too ended up with only a handful of eggs. Needless to say our kids are not good egg hunters, but I think they had fun anyway.
