Easter Outfits

I love taking pictures of our family on Easter morning. The kids looked so cute dressed up for church. You can't always expect them to cooperate for pictures, but you do what you can. We are so grateful for our Savior and the time we had to celebrate his life today.

Easter

The Saturday before Easter the Braswell's invited us over for an egg hunt. It ended up being a really nice day and the kids spent most of the time outside. Reece and Levi thought the dog next door was a lot of fun. Simon showed off his gymnastic skills on the trampoline. Miriam and Paige played nicely together. The kids had so much fun with their cousins.

Easter morning is always a crazy time wiht the kids running around hunting for eggs. I think everyone was happy with the gifts and candy. Time to get ready for church and remember the true reason we celebrate Easter.

Miriam got a super rare Shopkin!

Coloring Easter Eggs

This year we decided to color Easter eggs at home. I bought some kits for the kids to use while decorating their eggs. I don't know why I even buy them. They never work! We ended up using the dye in the packs and then the kids decorated the eggs with markers and stickers.

Levi was interested in coloring eggs for about 10 minutes. He dropped a few and cracked some, but he had fun. In the end he was more interested in the vacuum than the eggs.

Simon was very careful with each egg. He had an idea in mind and colored each egg with care. He wanted to make four green ones like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

As usual, Miriam was a little artist. She took her time making sure every egg was just right. She wanted to leave some white so she could use stickers and markers on them once they were dry.

The next day we added the embellishments to the eggs. I helped Simon make the turtles. Miriam used markers to write on her eggs. Next year I am not buying any fancy kits.

Easter Morning

Miriam and Simon were so excited for Easter to arrive. They knew the Easter bunny was going to fill and hide their eggs. They practiced hiding and finding eggs for a couple of weeks before Easter. When they came down Easter morning they first checked their Easter baskets from mom and dad, then they finally noticed all the Easter eggs hidden around the house. There were even some eggs hidden outside for Miriam and Simon this year. These eggs were filled with coins. Although Levi didn't grasp the concept this year he was excited to eat the goldfish left for him in his eggs. I really enjoy celebrating holidays with my kids. The magic is so contagious.

(Simon was so sad because he wasn't feeling well. He cheered up right away when he saw his basket.)
