Sea World

On Friday we went to Sea World. It was the first day spent with my whole family. When we got there we decided to see the Shamu show around 11:00, so we only had about an hour to do other things before heading in to get seats for the show. We stopped at the front where the kids were able to reach in and pet some fish. Miriam even stuck her hand into the tank with little fish that eat your dead skin cells. She said it tickled when they touched her. Simon loved picking up the sea stars. Both kids thought it was so neat to hold a starfish on their hand.

We were also able to take the kids on some rides at Sea World. Miriam and Simon both loved the spinning cups and requested to ride it multiple times during the day. Michael and I had to take turns riding so we didn't get too sick.

We met up with my family for a few shows throughout the day. We all loved the killer whale show with Shamu. Miriam loved the Cirque Du Soleil show. Simon said he just loved the rides best. Unfortunately we missed the sea lion show because they reached full capacity before we could get in. I felt so bad because Miriam was devastated that she missed the show with her cousins. Luckily we all got in the dolphin show and she felt better after that.

It was great being able to take our kids to the attractions they wanted to see, but also great to meet up with my family throughout the day. Toward the end of the day we saw the penguins, a polar bear, a beluga whale, and a walrus. Miriam and Simon loved their first day with their cousins.

This post wouldn't be complete without us talking about our food experience, right? We had been in California for four days and hadn't had a fish taco yet. You see, when started planning our trip to California Michael talked about eating fish tacos. Simon caught on to this and talked about eating fish tacos for months. So, we left Sea World and headed over to Mitch's Seafood for dinner. It was a tiny little place right on the bay where the fishing boats come in, good sign for fresh fish. It was very delicious. If we lived in San Diego it is definitely a place we would frequently visit.
