Balboa Park

On Sunday we went to church at the closest building to where we were staying. We ended up in a tiny ward (the San Diego 1st Ward) for sacrament meeting. I always love attending other wards and seeing that the church is the same, and true, no matter where you go. After church we wanted to take it easy so we decided to spend the day at Balboa Park. Balboa Park contains the zoo, beautiful gardens, small museums, and I am sure much more. On our way over we picked up sandwiches for a picnic lunch.

After lunch we planned on hitting the museums we thought the kids would like best. We went to the model train and railroad museum. We also went to the natural history museum. After that everyone kind of split and went their own way. We took the kids to a train ride by the entrance to the zoo. They loved riding around the small track. It was a great way to spent a Sunday afternoon on vacation.
